Hi all,

I'm currently going through the Pimsleur Japanese series, and I have a question about some of the vocab used in Level II, lesson 8.

Because the pimsleur series (annoyingly) doesn't come with any notes, I'm not sure if I'm hearing the speaker right. It's trying to teach how to say 'Let's eat' or 'let's drink' etc.

I'm hearing either:

tabemasushou -or- tabemasu yo (let's eat)

nomimashou -or- nomimasu yo (let's drink)

ikimashou -or- ikimasu yo (let's go)

I know it's only a small point, but I'd like to get it right the first time around so I don't make any bad habits (like for example, always writing in romaji because it's easier... Ahem.)

Thanks for the help

That'd be:
tabemashou
nomimashou
ikimashou

Ahh, Pimsleur. That brings back some memories. Even today I find that I sometimes spit out phrases directly from that little series.

hmm..Pimsleur is good for health. =p I've learned pretty much from there. Its true bout the drawback of not having notes.

@silk600:
You can also try in an inviting form:
Issho ni gohan o tabemasen ka. Shouldn't we have lunch together?
Issho ni su-pa- e ikimasen ka. Shouldn't we go to the supermarket?
Issho ni kissaten de ko-hi- o nomimasen ka. Shouldn't we have coffee at the coffeeshop?

pls correct me if I'm wrong. thanks.
