I agree with Han Chan - try to ignore stuff like this that upsets you - maybe it's also better not to post the link so that other people become upset, too!!

hide is the name of the God of Jrock! He created himself in human flesh on the day of December 13th, 1964. He single-handedly inspired an army of Japanese rock stars to take over the world. They will do so on May 25th and 26th in an event called Jrock Revolution, which was planned by Yoshiki, hide's loyal servant.
hide is not to be confused with Hyde, which is the alter ego of Jekyll and was conjured up by a mad scientist named Gackt. Some people claim that hide's name must be written without a capital H because people with pink hair have to spell their names in lowercase letters. In actuality, hide said that his name must be lowercase because he is God and therefore his word is law. Recently there have also been discussions on whether hide has disappeared from Earth's surface. THIS IS A LIE. He is still alive and has recently made many accomplishments in the world of beauty and fashion, such as opening his own salon called LEMONed, starting an Egyptian-based clothing line called Seth et Holth, and shaving Britney Spears' head.
During his childhood, hide was forced to live among mere mortals. As part of his mortal disguise, he cast a spell on himself that temporarily made him obese. However, this caused deep psycological trauma in the form of him being constantly teased by his school mates about his weight. He reversed the spell and began to reconsider his decision to live among the ignorant and undeserving masses. However, his "grandmother" (just a decoy of course so people wouldn't notice that hide was a God) encouraged him to stay by giving him his first guitar.
n 1981 he started to feel better about his decision. He had started an independent rock band named Saver Tiger. When the band released their first album, another musician named Yoshiki managed to get a copy of it, and was very impressed by hide's mad guitar skillz. He decided that he must have hide in his own band. In an act of desperation, he kidnapped the other members of Saver Tiger. He made a phone call to hide, saying: "If you ever want to see your precious band mates again, you will join X Japan as our lead guitarist!". hide agreed to do this, and the members of Saver Tiger went their separate ways. Eventually, the remaining members of Saver Tiger re-grouped and started a boy band.
Shortly after hide joined X Japan, Yoshiki felt guilty about his actions and in an effort to make up for his behavior, he offered to be hide's loyal servant. hide agreed to this, and immediately demanded that Yoshiki buy him a lifetime supply of lemonade.
Dude we got to do something about this this is the most pathetic and disturbing thing i ever read!!!! How dare they say those things about a deceased person... That's not cool!

She would say: life is too short - lets ignore those who merely try to upset us. I used to get all worked up about the other barstads in the traffic - now I just smile and think that their negative energy shall not influence my mood. Frankly this attitute have made my life much better. So, I can recommend it!

Herbal that type of site thrives on people clicking on the links that people post, the more hits it gets the better. It is a shame that things like this exist on the Internet, but without complete and utter censorship and control, a site like that will exist for a long time.
It may not be nice, the best way is to try to forget it and ignore sites that practice defamation of character.

Haters and jealous people will never go away. If you want to look at it, please look at it with some sense of humor, if not, then just ignore it. Don`t let someone ruin your life. Look at it as if the person wishes to be like her and tries to get on her level by trying to ruin her. Makes sense?
The person who wrote this wants attention and you are certainly giving him yours as well. So, as of now, that webpage is winning the game.

Apart from its many inaccuracies and some highly dubious articles, yes it is a respected site.
Uncycloypedia is a Parody site. Take it or leave it, at least you know that its articles are there for fun.

well to be honest i didn't it is bad, i just think its ridiculous to make a site with those jokes, there are some funny phrases in it, but mostly they say Koda was a slut while she is a very hot woman:relief:
they say she barely speak japanese because she has a more english accent.
while it's more the opposite way.

Herbal I dont know if you intended to actually promote the site in the first place, but by putting the link in your opening post that I am afraid to say that is what you have actually done. It is slightly ironic that as a result of your post the site has had a few more people look at it.
As for the artice itself I do find it slightly sarcastic and funny at the same time. Unfortunatly there is various forms of sarcasm all over the net, even one of my mothers friends is regulary being targeted as some people refer to him as the Loins of Longleat, but that is another story lol.
Anyway you take care Herbal, I do look forward to the next thread that you start. :)

Hi Herbal,
First of all, I`ve got to agree with EmperorHirohito, that you`ve inadvertently promoted the site.
Secondly, you should`nt let yourself be captured by this, rise above it, you`er bigger and better than them.

I never said you promoted the site. I said you publicized the site.
I had never heard of it before reading your post. But I went there and spent about half an hour surfing around on it after reading your post.

Surely the meaning is the same in this case, then?
The outcome is the same. Which is not the same as the meaning being the same.
Promoting implies a recommendation or endorsement, at the very least encouraging others to visit. Publicizing merely implies broadening knowledge of the site's existence. Quite clearly he did not want to promote the site, even though he did end up publicizing it. And though in the end result there isn't a nickel's worth of difference, I still like to adhere to Rule 13 (http://etext.virginia.edu/railton/projects/rissetto/offense.html).

But, I wouldn't worry about it and just browse on.

Thanks Mike, for giving me something stimulating to chew on here!
I do appreciate the difference, and just meant to suggest that in this case there was no practical difference between the two in terms of what the OP provided, (implicitly-implied I'd hoped, but perhaps not!)
In any case the two terms do overlap here in certain spheres. Some of my friends are book 'publicists' and not 'promoters'. Others work for PR companies or events and they are 'promoters'. It's just a difference of emphasis, with the same meaning - 'promoter' sounds slightly more pro-active, confident, pushy, while the other strikes us as quiet, intelligent, and perhaps not needing to push quite as hard.
Anyway, great to see another who loves our great language as much as I do, and also love your links - great stuff! Keep'em coming! :)

Even though I am not Japanese (i am Indian) I still love Japan , yet i am so sad that such a good country has gone through the toughest hardships in life. Japan facinates me. more than any other country. Please comment on my posts and see the new member introduction page to know more of me. let me show you the website i created for Ayumi Hamasaki.
