Hi, everyone.
There's this forum I goto often about Japanese related stuff and other stuff in general, that has been a really fun place to goto, it's a good place for people who are into Japanese culture/language/tv/music etc. and also is a good place to talk about anime and video games, it even has a couple of people who talk about JP only gaming and such.
It has a user base of nice people and without the drama that some other boards receive sometimes.
This used to be a pretty active place, they even got over 600 posts in on one day once, but, in the last year or so for some reason the activity on the board has really started to die, but the board owner doesn't really like to advertise anywhere, because he doesn't want to be seen as spamming or someone who is constantly going around other people's boards trying to get members, and basically other than a few people he personally invited, he's left it to word-of-mouth for new members.
Unfortunately word-of-mouth about the board has pretty much all dried up, and so they've had only a few members join in the last year, and now there are less than 50 posts in a whole month.
I really like this board even though its been dead lately, and I down want to see it get shut down, and since the board owner doesn't like to advertise, I felt that I had to do something to keep one of my favorite boards to visit alive, so I thought I would try letting a few people know about it by posting here, hopefully this won't be considered spamming, since it said this forum is for advertising japan related sites.
So, if you have some free time, and don't mind taking a look, I would be happy if you checked the place out, i hope to one day see the board get in even just maybe 5 - 10 posts every two days or so.
Thanks for reading! And sorry again if this kind of advertisement isn't allowed, I just want to see this board keep going.

Perhaps there is no activity because the forum is not working...

The link "The Language, Country & Culture" http://www.nihongofreak.com/board3/forum.php?id=12 - which would be the main Japan-related forum - is not responding, and thus (perhaps) the last post there dates back to August...

That's strange, I just tried the link and it worked.

I wonder why it's not working for you. (I hope no one else is having this problem.)

click on anything and I get the server error. I'd say someone pulled the plug and the patient died?

I'll tell you whats the problem. Probably its the colours, since they are completely screwed. All the interface is too flashy, as if it was some video game related website. Well thats my opinion.

Hello guys, I am the owner of the site that the original poster has indicated.

When I first started the board in 2004, I didn't have a website. Even so I managed to accrue over 12,000 posts in a 9-month period of time. In 2005, I upgraded the software I was using and for some reason activity declined gradually. I upgraded the software again in 2006 to try and make the board run better. At the beginning of this year, I restarted the board so make it more simple -- perhaps that was a mistake? (I can bring back that board at a moment's notice however.) I now have a website and will be adding stuff on a regular basis. I would like to get NFF back to the way it was in 2004 and am looking for any suggestions you might have for improving the site. Thank you. If you have any questions, you may contact me as well.

By the way, my username on NFF is VGFreak877.
