Hi everyone,

Hoping I'm not starting something here that doesn't belong, but will go ahead, cuz I could really use some advice. Do let me know if i should go to some other section with this though.

Thing is, I'm a 4th year Japanese student (in the Netherlands) and this is also my last year. As part of our curriculum we need to do an internship for the second part of this schoolyear. We're allowed to do that either here, in any English speaking country (it's a Japanese-English education) or of course in Japan. Obviously, I would most like to go to Japan.

The problem is finding an internship in Japan, especially from here. I already tried several times at various companies, but so far nothing. And even though my Japanese isn't bad, it takes up a lot of time going through websites trying to find out whether a company even has an internship program to begin with. The result is that I am getting rather frustrated, but I am also running out of time. The internship is supposed to start in February and since I understand arranging a work-visa can take a few months, I am getting fairly worried I won't be able to find an internship in Japan.

Of course, this is where J-Ref comes in. I am really hoping that anyone of you might be able to help me. Any tips or advice would be more than welcome and if you would happen to know (of) a company taking on interns, you would be a life-saver :)

Thank you all very much.

Try contacting L.L.Beans in Japan. The original company in Freeport , Maine is a great company to work for. They specialize in outdoor clothes and products. Where you speak English/Japanese/ etc. they might be able to help. Good luck!
