I see a lot of *applicants must currently hold a valid working visa* on job postings. So does this mean if I have a working visa with a company I could work part-time for an other one with my current working visa?

I hope so.

Employers here tend to frown upon moonlighting. Even more so when they have legally obligated themselves by being the sponsor of your visa.

Employers who require you to already have a valid working visa can tend to be a bit on the shady side.

Notice that my post specifically does not address the legality of moonlighting. (People have a nasty habit of inferring things).

What it really means is that the employer is probably not willing to sponsor a work visa, and would rather hire someone who already has one. "Valid working visa" could also mean a dependent visa, student visa, or cultural visa (all with special permission), a spouse visa, or PR status.

In addition, you can hold more than one job on one visa, but only if it falls within the field of work permitted for that visa. Example, an engineer visa would not allow someone to get a second job (or any FT job for that matter) as a teacher.

I see, I used to work as a cleaner when I was on my working holiday visa, so I though I could get a working visa with them and maybe teach at the school I used to work for part-time.

It is highly doubtful that a cleaner will be able to sponsor you for a working visa.

Or that a visa for cleaning work would cross over into teaching...
