what is the difference btw university and junior college?

university leads to a bachelor and lasts 2 years wile junior college usually lasts for 2 years ad will not lead to a bachelors degree

It depends on where you study; university usually means a 4-year degree (there are 3 year equivalents in some countries). Where I am, it's not a matter of time, but of credit. Depending on how many classes you take at any given time, it could take 2 years or 10 years to get a Bachelor's degree, but the average is 4. Here, a junior college can only offer a 2-year (Associate's) degree. For a more specific answer, try a more specific question.

And...if you are talking asking about the system in Japan; the Jr. College (短大 =tandai) or Vocational college (専門大学 = senmon daigaku) will be two years. A college or university (大学 =daigaku) will be from 4 to 6 years, or more. . . depending on if a person wishes to go for what is equivalent to a Masters or a PhD., respectively.
