hey, i'm from America and i was wondering if there are any major differences in education. If a japanese high school student, or former high school student, could post a 'day in the life' type of response, while he/she was a student, that would be cool. I have basic questions like
What classes are offered?
How long are school days?
What kind of clubs exist?
Any facts or observations about high school life would be much appreciated. i'm trying to make a comparison with my education and Japanese education.

Hi,

I really want to study in a public senior high school in Chiba,Japan and I'm 14 yrs. old living in the Philippines. My biological father is Japanese but he left us. Now my stepfather is Japanese and lives in Chiba. I just want to ask the following questions:

1. How much are the fees in a public senior high school in Chiba,Japan?
2. Can someone please tell me how is the entrance examinations for foreigners? Is it in Japanese or English? What are the subjects in the exams? Is it hard?
3. How can I take the entrance exams if I can't go in Japan? Will the embassy here do something about the matter?
4. Is it possible to get to study in Chiba by next year, provided that my mother will arrange the documents within this span of time?
5. Do they have scholarships even if I will study in a public high school?

*Thank you for spending a bit of your time in answering my questions. Your answers and time are much appreciated. Thank you again.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply it really helped me. I just wanna ask more questions due to so much curiosity. Our house in Chiba is in Kisarazu.

1. How much are the fees in a public senior high school in Chiba,Japan?
2. Is it a must to know Japanese language to be able to study in Chiba public senior high schools?
3. Is it enough if I will study Japanese language now to study senior high next year?
4. Do they bully foreign students in senior high schools?
5. How can I take the entrance exams if I can't go in Japan? Will the embassy here do something about the matter?
6. Do they have scholarships even if I will study in a public high school?

Thank you and sorry for the repeated questions. Hope that you guys reply as soon as possible.

2) You need around JLPT2 knowledge to be at least able to understand whats going around in classes.
3) It takes around 2 years to reach JLPT2 (i think) from nothing.
4) No, if you look different they will treat you different (ie. special), but they won't bully you.
6) Doubt it.
