This may be stupid, but you can't get answers without asking questions :)
Okay, I was looking around in http://www.japanese-online.com and in one of the dialogues, a person says, "yoroshiku." He pronounced it [yoh-roh-shkoo] or something LIKE that. Last night, I was watching a movie with Humphrey Bogart and a Japanese man said the same word, only he said it [yoh-roh-shee-koo]. Now, is it just a variable pronunciation, or did one pronounce it wrong?

It is the same rule about the "i" in "shi" being silent or barely voiced before K (and other consonants) -- I'd definately say the former for standard use.
