Heya.
I'm currently studying at a college in England and taking Maths, Physics DT and Geography as my AS levels. For A2's I'm taking further maths, dropping geography and keeping the other three.
Now, I want to apply for Monbusho scholarship in my own country, Croatia, in a year's time. I want to do Design or Mechanical engineering or both combined which would be my preference.
Monbusho doesn't define Design in scholarship application as either natural or human science hence the exams I'm supposed to sit aren't mentioned anywhere. From my subjects list you can see that if I want to pursue Mech engineering at uni in Japan I ought to sit Chemistry as well, which I'm not attracted to and since I'm not taking it for my A levels I'm likely to fail it.
Monbusho says that the people wishing to pursue "other" fields, as stated in the scholarship terms document, shall have difficulties finding unis that will accept them. Is this generally correct and does Monbusho give advantage to less able students (meaning they've done worse in exams) who are pursuing one of the fields from either natural or human sciences?
Has anyone gone to do Mech eng. at uni in Japan?
How did your exams go?
Advices?!
thanks
