help on finding this documentary!

Hello people.!..
Last year, I was watching this japanese documentary on T.V and i forgot the title of it. But i know what it was about.. It's about this club where japanese girls would go in, and choose from a group of japanese males to hang out with them. And they would pay huge amounts of money for them, and buying drinks. I want to know what they call this place. It was in japanese, but i have forgotten. Does anyone know what im talking about?. I know it sounds a bit dirty..but it is a very fascinating documentary that i want to know more about.

First of all, I have never been to any of these places.

They are called 出会い喫茶 (であいきっさ Deai Kissa) or 出会いカフェ (であいかふぇ Deai Cafe).

They are all the rage nowadays and there are some even in the rural areas like where I live.

Even though any "real action" takes place OUTSIDE these places, it is prostitution when you think about it. The big difference is in a Deai Kissa, it is the WOMEN who is in control.

For men, these establishments are attractive because they are more casual ,not to mention legal, compared to paying for a professional's services.
Cheaper, too. Or so I hear.　

As for the documentary film you are looking for, I have no idea what it is called. Was it indeed a feature film or a segment aired as a part of a News show?

thank you! I was fascinated in the documentary of this when it aired in Australia. Now i have to find it now. yeah most girls would spend millions of yen of buying those drinks.

Oh wait!! I think I was thinking of something totally different.

The club you described is NOT Deai Kissa but HOST CLUB (Hosuto Kurabu)! That's the kind of club where women are entertained by a bunch of young(ish) men with plucked eyebrows and fake tans, right? They pay millions of yens for Dom Peregnons ( I can't even spell that right lol) so their favorite "host" would pay more attention to them. :relief:

YEAH THATS IT!! as soon as i saw HOST CLUB(images came flashing back) ahaha YEP YEP and where women get to choose which "boys" they want. AHHH YES! THANKS..now to find that documentary xD

Oh i found the name of the documentary its called "The Great Happiness Space - Tale of an Osaka Love Thief"
