Hello!

I'm a student of journalism at University of Warsaw. At our sociology workshop, we are currently involved in an exploration of themes regarding national stereotypes around the world. My group decided to choose Japan, for it is - as we believe - a country with a fascinating culture quite different from ours. So, I would like to ask you Japanese a few questions:

1. What is autostereotype of a typical Japanese? How do Japanese perceive themselves as individuals and as a nation?

2. What do Japanese people usually think of Poland and Poles (if they do think anything about them)? Can you think of a sterotypical Pole?

Please, don't feel obliged to be polite! I want to hear about the most commonplace point of view. Also, if have ever met a Pole or been to Poland, please note that and tell me what your insights were. I will be very glad for your help, and I also hope we'll all learn something from this! Cheers!
