I took the time to watch it this weekend. It's very looong. Very sentimental look at the past but done well enough to hold your interest. I think the best part, though, was beginning with Gojira. It was the scariest and most realistic Gojira I've seen. As you said, the CG effects for recreating that era was excellent (on par with the 50s era scenes in the lates Indy Jones film).

I used to read the original manga and loved it. Reminded me so much of the many episodes in my childhood.

The first movie was pretty good in the recreation of the ambience and quite good plot.

Sadly, I found the second one disappointing as a story. I also saw flaws in the recreation of the period. (Some details did not match the age--faulty research.) But, the Gojira was great! :cool:

I never saw the first one, so I was basing my enjoyment on the second as a stand-alone movie.

Specifically, what did you find inaccurate about the recreation of the period? (I did see one building that may be too modern for the age.)
