Hello everyone,

A couple of questions. First how far is Ajinomoto Stadium from Ginza? And what is the best way to get there? My son and I will be in Tokyo on the weekend of August 9th and would like to catch the Tokyo Verde soccer game happening there that day.

Also, anyone know how much tickets are to a J-League game? Is it safe at the stadium?

Make your way to Shinjuku and get on the Keio Line (private railway) to Tobitakyu Station. It's a 5-minute walk from the station. The walk should be easy--just follow the crowd!!

The tickets cost from 3000 to 5500 yen each.
Is it safe at the stadium?
I've never heard of rumbles at Japanese soccer games.

I've been to 2 J-League games (Yokohama and Tokyo). Come on, it's Japan. Worried about safety? Perfectly safe, and a pretty good brand of football.

Are tickets readily available at the stadium? Or should I buy before hand?

I'm not a soccer fan and never went to the games, so I don't really know. (I'm just familiar with the area.)

From what little I know, I think it depends on the game and how important the game is for the teams and their fans.

I'm pretty sure that you don't have to buy tickets so early. However, you'll need to check out the games that are played at the Stadium during your stay in Tokyo.

If that has been checked, I think you'll have enough time inquiring about Verdy ticket purchase after you arrive in Japan.

There are also buses to Ajinomoto stadium from Kichijoji, a trendy Tokyo suburb on the JR Chuo line (direct access from Tokyo station).
