I'm in Sapporo Hokkaido right now entering the last 2 weeks of a 6 week vacation. I really love it here and would like if possible to continue my school studies here. At the moment I'm in community college in America with one more semester left to fulfill my GE credit requirements for transfer to a university. It's been taking me so long to get out of community college though(this is my 3rd year already), and even though it's only one more semester, I've been held back for so long on persuing my major studies in Japanese that I'd like to just stay here and do that while also finishing my other credits. I have no idea where I can look to though, and the option most people seem to give is to spend a summer in Tokyo at a foreign university. Hokkaido is where I would love to go though, and NOW while I'm here already. I'm most interested in trying to fulfill my credits here for both my transfer to university and for being able to do study abroad here aswell in a university focused on my major.
Can anyone help me in any way? The thought of going back to America for another agonizingly lame semester at community college just really gets me down. I'd have all my credits fulfilled in terms of my major for being allowed to study abroad by now if my school offered the classes, but only places far away from me offer them. Why not just fulfill them now while I'm here instead of having to wait another 3 years or so ater getting into uni? This is just really feeling like a waste of life so far, so since I'm here I want to make an effort to just follow my dream, even if I don't have much time...
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
