Sorry if this is in the wrong topic, it did seem like the right one. Please let me know if there is another forum this post belongs in.
I'm a 17 year old hapa (half-Japanese) male looking to apply to Japanese talent agencies and record companies as a singer.
:?
I'm not fluent in Japanese and can't hold a conversation. I can read hiragana and katakana well but my kanji definitely needs work.
I know Avex Trax is holding a world audition in the United States but I live in Canada. I emailed them asking how to audition if I live in Canada and they haven't gotten back to me.
I am also aware that Sony Music Japan has open auditions via snail-mail all year round, but getting photos printed, getting a demo on a CD, and making it all in a package all the way to Japan can get expensive. I'm willing to spend money, but I am not so sure about sending away a bunch of things and never getting them back while also not getting a response from the company ever (they said it can take up to 3 months for them to reply with an offer, but if they don't like you they won't reply at all, so I'd be waiting three months...).
I've been searching for the email for auditions at SKY Corporation (the talent agency that Leah Dizon went through), but I have not been able to find any way to contact them!
Does anybody know any way to contact SKY Corporation, Victor Entertainment, or any other reasonably-sized or even small Japanese record companies?
*Just a note, (I am not trying to sound rude >_<) I am a realist. I completely realize how irrational my dreams may be, but please don't give me any posts that say things like "you have to do this first".. I absolutely understand I do need to learn more Japanese first, so please don't give me any "reality check" posts as it just brings down my morale and I'd like to keep a steady momentum in making my dreams happen.*
