みなさんこんにちは!

I'm going to be studying in Tokyo for 4 months in spring and i'm starting to look at plane tickets. For anyone who has studied in japan and traveled by plane answer these questions:

1. How long before you left did you buy your ticket? And do you think you should have waited or purchased earlier?

2. Did you buy a one way ticket, round trip, or open ended ticket? Did you regret your decision and what do you think the best choice is?

3. Where did you purchase your ticket? Do you think this place was the best, or which option would you recommend (online, travel agency, etc.)?

I got mine (a round trip) from a travel agency and IMO it is best to get them as early as possible.. The prices tend to rise when the trip gets closer..
Unless you know of an occation where you can get it cheaper ofcourse!

I got an offer from the agency and when I called the next day to purchase, it had gone up 100€! I told them that they had made an offer the previous day and I wanted it for that price but they just said that it was that day's price.. :okashii:

So preferably you should get the tickets atleast a couple of months before you fly!

And I guess a round trip is cheaper if you already know when you are getting back (you should compare the prices though!). Having a fixed date also helps you not to overstay your visa!
