To my surprise I read in some newspapers that the Japanese PM Mr.Taro Aso is a Catholic.
I wonder how many of you do know this? Of course I have met Japanese Christians in my life. But this is very different, Mr. Taro Aso is the Prime Minister of Japan.

Did you know this?
Does he come from Nagasaki?

I am very curious!

Asou Tarou (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taro_Aso) was born in Iizuka, Fukuoka Prefecture.

He is indeed the first Roman Catholic Prime Minister of Japan, but also the third Christian Prime Minister. Katayama Tetsu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetsu_Katayama) and Oohira Masayoshi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masayoshi_Ohira) were Christians as well, and Yoshida Shigeru (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shigeru_Yoshida), who was Asou's grandfather, received baptism right after his dead.
