Tsutaya card

Does anyone here know if there's a time limit to Tsutaya cards' validity?

I'm fairly sure you need an Alien Registration Card to register with Tsutaya, and I had one the last time I was in Japan. This time I'm staying on a regular tourist visa, and now I'm wondering if I should dig out my old Tsutaya card from two years ago, or whether they'd still ask me to show my Registration Card to renew it.

I'm going to live right next door to a Tsutaya! Being without a card in that situation seems like a terrible pity. Hopefully someone can enlighten me on what I should expect!

Look on the back of the card. There should be a section that says 有効期限, and then have something like 2008年5月20日. That's the expiration date. I believe it's valid for a year.
