Hey there my name is Dal.
I registered so i could ask some questions about the cooking schools in Japan.
I was looking at the Le Cordon Bleu school in Kobe but I still need more information about other schools in japan.
Im only 15 im taking a japanese course during summer while teaching myself through Rosetta Stone. I was wondering if anyone had some info about living and going to school school in japan and if anyone had some info on some good cooking schools in japan and what would i need to enter.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I don't know about Cordon Bleu in Kobe (which is just a Japan branch of the famous French cooking school), but most vocational schools in the culinary arts here in Japan require foreign students to be able to speak Japanese or at least studied Japanese at a language school in Japan.

A couple of the more famous schools are:
Tsuji Chouri Senmon Gakko (which has a branch school in France)

Hattori Eiyou Senmon Gakko
Hattori website translation by Google (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.sanpou-s.net/school/html/34/school_2.html&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=7&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3D%25E8%25AA%25BF%25E7%2590%2586%25E5%2 5AD%25A6%25E6%25A0%25A1%25E3%2580%2580%25E5%25A4%2 596%25E5%259B%25BD%25E4%25BA%25BA%26hl%3Den%26clie nt%3Dopera%26rls%3Den%26hs%3DFY3%26sa%3DG)
According to the Hattori school website, you need to have studied Japanese for at least 6 months at a Japanese language school and/or have JLPT Level 2 or higher.
