Hello.
I'm deciding the subject for my work at uni for 'Japanese history and society' lecture. Would be happy to find something more interesting than 'The position of woman in Japanese society' and similar ones.
After watching Warai no daigaku (imdb.com/title/tt0436886/) I felt like it would be interesting to write about similar subject - "A Japanese censorship in WWII", if there's some books to read. I have a limited time for that, as it's not final thesis or something like that...just presentation and discussion after that.
Does anyone please know any books/articles in English (preferably) or Japanese (possible 1-2 books, still slow in reading in Japanese), where I can get to know more about this?
Thanks,
eM.

And one interesting way to stuff your presentation would be to compare the censorship in Japan with the one in western countries. You may find material more easily, and that would also make your presentation more interesting by adding more context.

Wartime censorship is the norm in all countries waging a major war (certainly UK and US during WWII also used a lot of it), so it is more interesting to understand how Japan differed (if it did) from the norm.
