I would say the anime. I read the manga, but i think the anime is cooler, you get another feeling from the anime  The movie sucked, to be honest. Not very good.

I'm very sorry to hear this but I rather liked the Live Action Movie because Tatsuya Fujiwara & Matsuyama Kenichi & Shido Nakamura & Erika Toda were a perfect cast to play Death Note.
I'm a huge fan of L like you can see (^_~)

The "All three are shat." option is unfortunately missing.
oh, cannot choose, because I only saw anime  but love it!
don't know why I haven't seen movies... seems they are nicely done...

yeah and the "what the *** are you doing in this thread if you dont like it?" option is missing too.
personally from those three i choose anime cuz i havent read too much of the manga (only 3 books) and the movies weren't good although kenichi was pretty good for the L part.

Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.
It would seem that I have a human right to be voicing my opinion here.
And in any case, 'what the *** are you doing in this thread if you don't like it?' does not deal with the quality of the anime/manga/film at hand, and is therefore an extraneous question.
I have only disclosed my subjective opinion that the anime/manga/film are both shite. It is completely in point and relevant to the discussion.

Sorry Derfel, but in your post you didn't "hold your opinion" either. You should look up first what "to hold an opinion" means.
The "All three are shat." option is unfortunately missing.
That's not an opinion.

Sorry Derfel, but in your post you didn't "hold your opinion" either. You should look up first what "to hold an opinion" means.
That's not an opinion.
I have expressed my regret over the absence of a "all three are shat" option, which is tantamount to stating "I find all three sh*t". Regardless of whether you can see it or not, my opinion is present in an implied form. Now, since I am disclosing my opinion in this thread, I am effectively -for the purposes of the treaty- 'holding an opinion'.
Additionally, I would greatly appreciate if you could provide reasoning, not only bare claims. I did you a favour by formulating a reply to your post, because I simply shouldn't have, since there is nothing to attack there, no reasoning or evidence. It is missing.

So, you admit that Death Note fails then?

What the..? No XD Death Note is one of my favourite animes and I'll explain why too but first, my reaction was absolutely normal for a DN fan when I saw your post. It's ok if you don't like the anime, I don't care at all, but I don't understand why would you say something like that. Therefore, you need to explain your opinion too in order for us to understand it or see your point. Did you even watched them all?
Anyway, so, why I like the anime? I think the idea is interesting and intriguing, the narative line being very complex. Even if it has a very realistic accent, the appearance of the Shinigami and the Death Notes gives the anime a fiction side. The story is well thought, also supported by the awesome graphics. I think the characters are very good built, complex, all with their own specific/weird characteristics.
I loved L's odd habits, which make him very original, but I also liked the way he thought and acted.
As the anime goes, you can notice that Light is becoming one of the criminals he so wishes to see dead.Though, I didn't want him to die, since he was(is) my favourite character from the anime.
I also somehow liked Ryuk's ignorant, apathetic, egoistical and even cruel personality. It's like an eloquent message that you can't trust anybody anymore. Even so, he's funny and he likes apples :souka:.
And, the most important thing about this anime is the logic in it. I LOVED it, it was fun.
Same goes for the movie. Not to mention that I really like the actors, I think they're great!
I haven't read the entire manga, but it seems like it follows very closely the anime. Anyway, I read more than a half of it :relief: .
And excuse my poor english, I can't express myself in too many words because of that. :-)

I would say something like that because Death Note is the opposite of many things I like a lot. Why I would say something like that has nothing to do with whether I have said it. I stated my opinion, and it exists regardless of whether I disclose my reasons.
I have seen most of the anime, never bothered with reading the manga and saw a few scenes of the film. All in all, I don't like the basic premise. In fact, I detest it. Oh yes, and let me add Lelouch => Yagami (Imagay) Light. I hate it when 'coolness' is oozing from characters, which was somewhat of a problem in the case of Lelouch as well, but the fact that he was a rebel and commanded proper troops and whatnot somehow counterbalanced it. The only type of 'cool' acceptable is gar and thats it.
I like the Anime,it's very great anime..on of the top anime serieses in my Anime list.
i did not read the manga and i find it not interesting...
Thanks for the Poll ^^

I think all are equal. The anime and the manga were the same, but I prefered the ending to the movie... however I think there were awesome parts to the anime and manga that the movie missed out. There is no equal option on the poll, so I didn't vote.

I read the manga and it was good, I guess. I have a bunch of friends who are die-hard DN fans and it didnt really live up to all the hype I was hearing. Still good tho ^^
