You've probably seen my thread about studying robotics in japan
My intended plan is to do a 1.5 year course at a "Japanese language school affliated with Tokyo University of Technology" > jst.ac.jp/us/index.html
From there i will then do a 2year robotics course at their college Nihon Kogaikuin- there is sopposed to be an entrance fee waiver system :
Entrance Fee Waiver System
For those who have graduated from this school and entered Tokyo University of Technology, Nihon Kogakuin College, Nihon Kogakuin College of Hachioji and Nihon Kogakuin College of Hokkaido which are the sister’s schools of Katayanagi Institute, the entrance fee and selection fee will be waived. But please be aware that those who entered to the sister’s schools during enrollment in the Japanese language course at this school are not eligible for this system. Please contact the Center for International Exchange for inquires.
I've contacted them and asked some questions:
5) If i go to the language school, will i have to pay money to enter the college?
6) After Nihon Kogakuin college how much will i have to pay to enter Tokyo University of Technology?
Hope You can help me with the answers to these questions, this is my dream.
and i got the reply:
5.The cost of the university is necessary besides the cost of Japanese language
school.
6.The cost of the NinonKogakuin College is about 24000 US$ for two years.
The cost of the university is about 28000 US$ for two years.
The effort is there but i just don't understand the message and i don't wanna burden them too much with my emails.
Now i'm hoping theres someone on this forum who knows anything about this school, i'm finding out this early because i have to support myself finacially and the waiver system would be awesome. Is the entrance fee different from the total payment?
Thanks in advance.

For future refernce resons and for the sake of public discussion Ill post a copy of our PMs here to...

Hi, i noticed you're currently studying at the school i'm planning to apply for in 2010, can you just tell me some of your experience there, your application procedures, where you were originally from and general things i should know, i.e. the waiver fee systems etc and scholarship. thanks in advance.
Hey man, sorry for the late reply.
I'm a Swedish guy who came to japan almost 3 years ago, enrolled in a language school in Sendai were I took their 2 year Japanese language coarse.
After that I enrolled a at Nihon kougakin in kamata were in a first year student and ones I graduate I plan to move on to University as a 3ed year student.
I dont plan to go to Tokyo university of technology because I think its over priced for a completely unknown school. Basically the wavered fee would only be the enrollment fee (200000 yen) but with the high school fee compared to other university it would still be cheaper to go else were.
What I think of the school...
The kamata campus of the senmon is the biggest senmon in Tokyo it also got a very god reputation in Tokyo as on of the top senmons. I personally think that the way of studying is a bit weired every one is just memorizing facts and not really allot of application. I`m fine with that though as I'm already quite competent in my field (IT) and need it more for the sake of a real degree and to improve my Japanese.
There is a scholarship but its very small and very hard to get, basically if you are among the top foreign students in the campus with perfect attendance you can get 50000yen a month for a year when you turn into a 2nd year student at the senmon. I know the same thing is available at language schools to if you take the 2 year coarse, but I dont know about the university.

Thats why I didn't went to neec. Its big but the percentage of student that got work after grad is not that high. Especially for foreigners and especially in my field of study.

Since ullvarg already answered your question, I just wanted to add a few things.
Tokyo University of Technology is a private uni which is = expensive fees. When you get here, try to check out other National Uni too. Those are more cheaper (usually half and have discounts for foreign students) and mostly have better rep then most of the private U's
