First of all, I'm going to give you a little background... I am an 18 year old from Mexico who lived in Japan for one year doing a one year homestay in Okazaki in Aichi prefecture and just got back home 4 months ago to finish my last year of high school.
Well, since I got back home I've been attending Japanese lessons 6 hours a week. It has been very useful as I'm learning a lot of grammar. However, I have noticed that my speaking/listening ability has decreased considerably.
My point is, the thing is that I want to master Japanese the way I master English. So the only way to do that is y continuing studying Japanese but living in Japan so I've looked up at some language schools to study for a 6-12 month period and there are so many of them that I'm just very confused as to what to choose.
The first that came to mind was Yamasa Institute as I lived in Okazaki and think that I could stay some time with some people I know over there to help me with the living costs, however, Yamasa's tuition costs are the highest I've looked at so I want to know what you know about Yamasa and whether it is really worth it. If you know anything about other schools in other parts of the country please tell me as I'm seriously considering it an option for my next year.
I also plan on working part-time once I'm there to support my expenses on a student visa.
Opinions, help, any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you
