Well I've been accepted for study at Aoyama Gakuin for the first term of the year (April-July) and i even got the Freeman-ASIA scholarship (not sure how much I've received yet though). After getting the scholarship i went ahead an got my plane ticket! So now it really seems official that i WILL be going to japan to study, although i doubt i will accept it until i actually walk out of customs and onto Japanese soil.

I just thought i would share this good news with everyone and see who else is going to Japan in April? Anyone going to be at AGU?

Oh yeah and i got my plane gets me to japan on March 24th, but i can't move into my dorm until the 31st. I was hoping to hangout around Tokyo and explore before going to my dorm. Hopefully stay in a capsule hotel and do some touristy stuff, but i would like to keep cost down. Is anyone able to host me for a couple days? I would love to stay with someone who knows Tokyo (or anyone around the whole Tokyo area) fairly well. Even if you can't host me i would like to meet up with anyone and have a nice day around Tokyo. Please PM me if your interested!

Another Oregonian, eh?
I see your location is Corvallis, but I'm sorry I gotta say, "Go Ducks!"

You should have a heck of a time. Tokyo is a blast for students, there's so much to see and do. I think there's something for everyone.
I don't live in Tokyo, and haven't kept up so much lately with many of my friends from there, so I can't help ya out too much on the place to stay, but you might look into Hostelling International (or something like that), there was a hostel in Yoyogi (a very convenient location) that looked kind of decent to me (you get your own room) and was pretty cheap. Might have to reserve pretty well ahead of time.
I might be in the area some time in March (maybe not that late) so I may drop you a PM if I happen to be around at that time.

Enjoy!

Well...capsule hotels are around 4000yen/night and there are many youth hostels around so the choice is yours ;)

Go beavs! ha ha Thanks for the info guys, but i think I've found some people on couchsurfing so i should be good. If anyone else reads this though and is able to host me then please let me know as i would like to have some backup places to stay if something doesn't work out.

I'm getting pretty excited about it all!

Cool man, hope you have a good time!
Looks like both the Ducks and the Beavs won their bowl games this year, so cool beans. Rivals aside, gotta pull for what's good for the Pac 10!

I was also shocked when OU beat OSU a couple of weeks ago, didn't see that one coming.

Regarding the Pac10... I think USC is the most overrated team in the country and what was that, losing to the Beavers (no offense) on midseason. Kind of remind me of the Dallas Cowboys and Tony Persona!
