Haruo "Godzilla" Nakajima Turned 80 Today

Oops! The original Godzilla (1954-1972) Haruo Nakajima turned 80 today. This should have been started days ago, but better late than never. If you are a fan, feel free to post your birthday greetings at a special blog I set up. I will see to it that his daughter Sonoe receives them.

The first time I went to Japan, I recall in front of the Parliament Building in Tokyo with a Japanese friend of mine who told me:
- Do you know this building? It's very famous.
- Yes I know it, I saw it when I was a child - I answered.
- A child? - he said surprised.
- Really, I saw Godzilla knocking it down... I see they did a good rebuilding job - I joked.
We both burst out laughing.

I've been a fan of godzilla from my childhood.

Atami Castle got trashed by King Kong and Godzilla in 1962's King Kong vs. Godzilla.
