Tokyo is where I work and live, and for the most part, I enjoy this place. As a tribute to My Town, I'd like to post some artistic videos paying homage to Tokyo.

Bremen is the name of a city in Germany, and it is also the name of a Japanese band that played in the background of this avant-garde video. (BTW, I posted this video in the bands topic awhile ago, sorry for the repetition.)

Okay, this is not really Tokyo, but the background for the movie/video was inspired by this city. It even includes what looks like the Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills that didn't exist at the time the movie was made. A case of life imitating art?
(BTW, if the video inspires you to see the movie, do it. It's great. Watch the final cut version, if you can.)

The first video had an emphasis on the frenetic pace of Tokyo city life. The second was more, but still depicted a non-stop city. The 3rd showed a darker side of the city (kind of...)
The following is a bit different, it uses a more prosaic approach in video crafting and focuses more on the human face of the city. It's superbly edited and has a good soundtrack. Please give it a watch..

The next video is not all about Tokyo, but it's well made even though the video quality is not up to par. It's a good, artsy video about Tokyo/Japan.

Don't thank me. Rather, thank the guys who posted the work on You Tube and the guys who did the work. If you get a chance feed them some good comments.
If I find more artsy stuff about this town, I'll post it.

Another arty video of my town, but sufficiently different to post here. It includes scenes of Yokohma, but Yokohama is so close we could consider it as being part of Tokyo just as Tokyo Disneyland is considered part of Tokyo.

The Shuto Expressway that covers Nihonbashi was completed in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and many people think that was a major mistake. Plans to correct it have been floating around for years. Now, a group of very influential business people have proposed burying it 40 meters underground. They believe it can be accomplished within 6 years, just in time for 2016 Olympics. Whether of not Tokyo gets the Olympics in 2016, I'm in full support of the project. It's already gotten the support of the relevant Ministries as well as the Governor of Tokyo.
I wanna see it happen!

Originally, it was wooden and one of the most important bridges in Edo (Tokyo). What it used to look like (from a Hiroshige Ukiyoe)
