For those who remember the British occupation of Hong Kong, from 1842 to 1st July 1997, this time, rumours arised that the American government might soon colonise the nation's capital of Tokyo or parts of central Japan. If that happens, Japan will lose it's capital, and of course, the constitutional monarchy(The nation will lose it's emperor). That may cause extreme political instability, and severe repression against it's citizens.

The question is: Will you benefit the American colonisation of Japan, or you will stand strong against it and protect our emperor?

with the economic crisis that everyone is facing now, i don't see how putting the american government would do japan any better than it's doing now. we can't even get most of our people jobs and so how can we support another nation?

more so, whatever gave you this idea of american colonizing japan?? could you please post an article so we could better understand what you're referring to.

Are you crazy? The US has too much on its hands. Man if they took anyone's country, it will be mine. They will come and grab Canada by buying up our natural resources at a firesale since our export is 80% dependent on the United States. If the US goes, Canada goes down with it. Also, the US does not take a colonialization approach to taking over the world. They do it through trade. Colonization is outdated, but it is a British approach. I think USA would sell Hawaii to Japan before they take over Japan. There is a Russian who even forecasts that the United States will break up into 6 pieces. Pachipro, what do you think? You are a fan of Coast to Coast.

I did not vote in the poll because it seems useless to such a stupid question. I consider myself up on most conspiracies and I have never heard of this one till I saw it listed today as someone must've voted. Will never happen.

Agreed. In fact, Japan has too many US Treasuries only second to China that it will be US giving up a piece of herself to Japan to pay back the debt (although unlikely also) than for US to occupy Japan. It is a possibility for them to take control of the Middle East oil reserves as they fight their war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and say to them that they must pay the entire cost of the war like Germany had to after losing WWI, except that the middle east would have to give up her oil. But Japan, the possible outcome would be that the US leave Japan if anything.

I hate to break your fantasy bubble, but if the US had wanted Japan as a colony, we could have just left our occupation forces in place following WW II. General McArthur actually did consider doing away with the emperor, but wisely decided not to interfere with that aspect of Japanese culture.

As our own history tells us, colonials sometimes revolt. But friends, allies, and trading partners can lead to prosperity for all.

Thanks for the good laugh!
