Hello, I think this is where this should go but I could be wrong.

I'm looking for a short Japanese poem about a journey, not a
certain poem, just a poem in general.
I'm planning to carve something out of wood and would like to
use such a poem on it, I would appreciate any help.

1. The shortest
Kusamakura (草枕), literally a grass pillow
2. Shorter
A waka poem by Prince Arima, a tragic prince in history
家にあれば 笥に盛る飯を 草枕 旅にしあれば 椎の葉に盛る
Ie ni areba ke ni moru ii o kusamakura tabi ni shi areba shii no ha ni moru
3. Short

pipokun thank you very much, I haven't fully explored the links you posted but they seem to have just the type of poetry I'm looking for. :)
