Hey Guys, I'm new to this board,
would be great if you could help me out with this:
I'm planing to get a half-sleeve tattoo in the classical japanese style because i really love them and I love Japan.
The problem is, that I found this picture (see attachment) on the internet some time ago and now i don't remember WHERE.
So if anyone knows it or even better the Story/Myth behind it I would really appreciate it, because the motive itself is great but I'm not really comfortable with getting inked a picture without knowing its background/story/meaning

it looks like a fairly typical dragon. i don't think there is a specific story associated with this image. the main thing is that dragons were thought to control certain forces like wind, storms, waves, and other natural occurrences. that's why in this image you see the dragon with wind and waves, which is how they are typically shown. usually surrounded in wind bars, sometimes with waves as well. just remember in keeping with the conventions of horimono do not get waves tattooed much higher than your midsection, and keep wind bars above your midsection.
