can someone please help me translate this sentence:

すると男は、めんどくさそうに言いました

i'm having particular trouble with the bold/underlined part because i can't find it online.

I think you cannot find it because めんどくさい is a contruction of 面倒（めんどう）くさい.
面倒くさい is a word to describe someething as a pain, too much of a bother.
So めんどうくさそうに (adverb derived from めんどうくさい） can be translated as "reluctantly" or "unwillingly".
