Hey guys, as a celebration for the LDP's victory, I was wondering, what do most people in Japan, preferebly younger people, call the Liberal Democratic Party in Japanese? What do most people in Japan call it?

Thanks.

I really wonder what there is to celebrate. The jiminto (LDP) has been the ruling party in Japan for most of the last 50 years. They dominate Japanese politics and only assure that there will be no substantial change for the coming years, as they are rather conservative.

Well, I'm a Conservative, so that's the good part. Oh, so most people call it Jiminto?

What else would most people call it? That is the name.

Yeah, no kidding why would anyone want to celebrate the LDP winning? The same bunch of septegenarians with bad combovers and no social skills who have been driving the economy into the ground while covering the country in concrete get another mandate to do more of the same. Big deal. How does their being conservative in itself make them good?

And what LDP victory are you talking about anyway? There hasn't been a general election or anything, just the ritual cabinet reshuffle and LDP leadership race that was barely contested.
