They seem to enjoy a better standard of living?
Why can't the rest of the world be like them??
The USA is #8 in terms of GDP per capita, but ranks #2 in terms of child poverty.:okashii:

Why can't the rest of the world be like them??
because the Wealth go to the Nordic countries, the others are weak so they have no chance to be like the Nordic countries.

Because they lack the sympathy and caregivers from their parents.

Better?

And how do you define better?

Have you ever considered that what you might think of as better might not be so to someone else?

They always show up top for quality of life under statistical measures like UN's Human Development Index and the Environmental Sustainability Index ( ranking combines environmental factors, such as air and water quality, respect for biodiversity and greenhouse-gas emissions, as well as social factors, such as gross domestic product, access to education, unemployment rate and life expectancy.). Although comparing a country with fewer than the number of people in NYC with countries with more than 50 million is simply nonsense imho. And I personally wouldn't live in Scandinavia for a variety of reasons.

it's unfair to say "Better".
we know how great their system for themselves,of course they have many good things like Elizabeth said but she missed something very important, how can the other countries in the south do like the Nordic countries while they need a big Wealth to depend on !

The USA is #8 in terms of GDP per capita, but ranks #2 in terms of child poverty.

I cannot see what is the argument point... what do you want to discuss here, MTR?

(1) The title of the poll
"Are the Nordic countries better than the rest of the world?"
Better in what? In what aspect you can say good?
People? Culture? Political system? Food? Education? Weather?

(2) Your post
"They seem to enjoy a better standard of living?
Why can't the rest of the world be like them??"
So you seem to be interested in the standard of living in Scandinavian countries and see it the core of the "being a good country"?
But how do you gauge it?

And why you think theirs are better than the rest of the world?
What do you say about their very high tax?
And equally high percentage of suicides?

"The USA is #8 in terms of GDP per capita, but ranks #2 in terms of child poverty."

Is GDP your measurement of standard of living?
I wonder what is your definition of "child poverty"?
Why do you compare the USA with nordic countries?
Is it because of the GDP?
Is the child of poverty the biggest point when considering "good standard of living"?

I do not particlarly against the point you put in your post, but when it is not clear what is being dicussed, people vote randomly. If you really are intersted, why don't you narrow down your question a little bit, be a little more specific? Then you'll get more feedback, I think.
