View Full Version : Formatting during "preview post".

Once I hit preview post, all the spacing out formatting I have done is deleted. So then I have to re-do it. It's not a hassle, I was just wondering why it occurs.
If I type out a sentence like this.
And then do this.
Upon preview, this will all be condensed into one paragraph and may be harder to read once quotes and images are added, as in my topic. Like I said it's not a big deal, but it'd be cool to just have it stay when you hit preview.

That's been an issue for quite some time now. I suggest that after previewing you use the "Go Back One Page" icon on your browser before you post.

That'll work? Awesome, because on some other sites I go to the cache will be erased and then I have to type it all over.

It worked when I tried it. Although just to be certain, you want to experiment for yourself before you use regularly. I hope it works for you!

Here is a suggestion that worked for quite a few people in the past (although for an older version of VBulletin):

This problem can persist depending on your browser, too. In my experience, the problem does not exist on Firefox. Although I don't use IE, I assume it doesn't exist in IE either.
However, I'm a regular Opera user and face this problem constantly. So, I have to deal with this whenever I write long posts. My workaround on Opera is to copy my entire post before preview, check preview, and then paste the previous post into the message space, making corrections accordingly. Not a cool way to do it, but I got used to it! :relief:

I'm on FireFox and it does exist! I guess I can do the copy-paste, let's see if the WYSIWYG works though without it.

Nope. Guess it's either type in MS Word and then paste, or copy-paste repeatedly.

I am on firefox too and I have the same problem.
So I use the copy/paste method.

I use Firefox, too, but I eliminate the problem by not previewing posts in the first place, to be honest. If I have a mistake I fix it after posting...if I notice it!:p

The problem exists on both Firefox and IE and, like Mikawa Ossan, I edit as much as possible in my reply and then fix it later after posting with the edit button as it does become a hassle after a while. The funny thing is that it doesn't happen all the time, just now and then for no known reason.

What I've done is, now that I'm typing on a regular keyboard, I type everything in MS word, then paste it into the text box. Problem solved!
