Squall from FF8 based from Gackt

Heya,

I read around that the character Squall from Final Fantasy VIII was based from Gackt.

Is this true? And can anyone give me some pics of the two so I can compare them? (Of course, they are both cute :blush: )

The nose and mouth have a striking resembelance. Squall's eyes are to small but the rest, seems to be a bit. I think they just get ideas from a bunch of different people then kinda morph them as one.
