So far no news or plans for US. I dont think they are interested in performing anywhere except in japan. Suck for us, US fans. I mean come on, they plan to have like 34 freaking concerts in japan and why cant they just put one in USA.?? I dont know why it is soo difficult for l'arc to perform in another country. I mean diru, miyavi and other jrock band had been touring easily in europe/asia and in usa. Why not L'arc??? Is it because they are signed to a major label? or there is nobody to sponsor them?

yeah!!! I read it in tetsugaku. You know the one he used in Finale pv is made in New York, and it was released in NAMM 93' show(NAMM is the biggest musical intrument fair in the world). It's all hand made, and only produced 50 ones in the world...but I think you can still order it with the producers for US $3380 now. I heard that tetsu doesn't like to use that one for some reason.

Yeah. I was disappointed with Seventh Heaven. :/ Hyde sounded...off to me. Not only Hyde, but the song itself was...lacking. Not to mention, I don't like the PV. Usually I watch L'Arc PV's like 4-5 times, but I only watched it once.

However, My Heart Draws a Dream sounds promising. It sounds like old L'Arc, pre SMILE. I'm really looking forward to it.

what is it with jrock bands who go major(international fame etc.) like d'espairsray, dir en grey, mucc....and laraku getting darker?

Personally I liked more shine than seventh heaven. And I liked much more awake than smile. Though I agree it's not best l'arc. In my opinion their best time was the time around Ark/Ray and Real. And their previous albums were awesome too. Before Smile I liked 98% of each album jajajaXPPPP[[what I mean is this:: Dune, I like all the songs in it ((one more than others, but you get my point)); Tierra, all but Inner core and hitomi no utsuro mono ((though it has beautiful lyrics)); Heavenly, all the ones I've listened, I haven't listened Garasu dama and shizuka no umi de =_=u; True, absoultly all the songs!; Heart all but Loreley; Ark I just don't like larva; Ray, l'heure and shinshoku~lose control~; Real, get out from the shell, besides that I like them all too^^.]]--->see?XPPPPPPPPPPPP

Well, that's my very-very-very-very-very short opinion on each albumXPP.
Anyway, then now there are songs I have mixed feelings.
An example is ready steady go. It's not one of my favorites l'arc's songs, but I don't hate it either... but then, when I see them playing it live I just can't help to love it! The same happens with killing me. I love the way they sound when they play them in concerts, even though they aren't my favorites songs...I think I've read an interview somewhere in which they said that it was what they were thinking or trying when they did smile, made songs to be played live. I think I read that somewhere...or maybe I'm just imagine things... it's the old ageXPPPP don't pay attention to me:P

Whatever...that's just my opinion... Oh, and I don't think l'arc en ciel is "darker" now...or at least I can't use the word "darker" to describe them... I can use it with dir en grey, duh^_^U....but larc...mmm...naaah:p

Maybe because awake was my first laruku album I have more affection towards it I dunno but I love that album...btw did you know that ophelia and my dear were supposed to be on Hyde's Roentgen album be he had to cut I guess so they put them both on Awake. Anyways yeah I love awake. of the four albums I have I'd probly rank them Awake > Ray > Smile > Ark all four are awesome though ^^

As you guys know, L'arc is performing a bunch of new songs in their tour. There are like almost ten of them, including "my heart draws a dream". If anybody is interested, The chille L'arc~En~Ciel website has a sample of all ten of the new songs (live version). They are doing the promotion for L'arc's new album, so you can just dl straight from the net. OMFG>> from what i can make out from the samples, they sound really awesome with a lot of guiter. Almost all the songs seems to run out from ken's fingers. Seventh heaven as a single really misled us to think that the new album will be more poppish. Just listen the samples.... "Black Rose" and "song #5" just blew me away..

Yeah, that was the extra clip from Light my fire dics of 5 live archive boxset. Yuki passed out right behind the drum set, after "shout of the devil" ending solo. hyde, tetsu and ken were at backstage already (you can see them all shirtless even tetsu XD) but yuki didn't show up, so stuff members went to look for them. They found him lying on the floor. Poor thing.

:souka: I dont know what you mean by 5 best jrock bands? I mean according to what rating? I think L'arc has been very popular in japan even before Asian Kungfu generation was formed. They have more than a hundred thousand fanclub members (hardcore fans who followed them for more than ten years) in japan alone. Whatever l'arc released almost all the time hit #1 in oricon. The only japanese bands that sold albums more than l'arc are Glay, Luna Sea and Mr. Children. Back in 1997-2000 were l'arc hay-days. They won gold dic award for having the best sale of the years. Their popularity has went down abit because of the hiatus. My japanese friend told me that L'arc are like U2, or Bonjovi in the west. They are like very well liked and respected, still very popular. :-)


ps. L'arc has always been a great band eversince the beginnning. There is not a lot bands who can release 3 singles in a day , 2 singles in a day, 2 ablums at the same times and they all hit #1 in oricon. And sold out tokyo dome in less then 4 mins, and sold out the whole tour in less than 20 mins.

Hm..Ophelia and Shinning over you are completely different for me. It's true that Ophelia is a bit similar to Shinning over's some part. But the feel of the song, the arrangement, and everything else is different.

:-) I'm like opposite. I dont like shinning over you, but adore Ophelia. I totally love the arrangement of that song. Ken's guiter line is just OMG>>SO FREAKING AWESOME>> Shining over you, for me, is kinda boring. It's nothing special, just another hyde's balled to me. Ophelia has layers and layers of instrumentation and has edgy dark feel that L'arc hasn't had for years.

Getting L'arc stuff in outside japan is very difficult. Even if we have Tofu record (bankrupt already?) in US, it's hard to find SMILE and AWAKE in stores. If you want the album, just buy straight from yesasia.com or cd japan websites. Buying there also help them out in Oricon Charts. :-)

it's songs like My Heart that showcase how truly amazing and beautiful hyde's singing really is. Gosh that part at the end of the song that last line he sings gets me every time I listen to this song. I love Gackt, but he cant touch Hyde.

I think it's gonna be included in the album. Shine is pretty good too. I heard the full version, live ofcourse, and ken's guitar solo really pawn!!! They have another single coming in November. But rumors has it that it's gonna be "yuki no Ashiato", but they haven't confirmed it yet.

mico >> I got my 15th L'anni DVD like 3 days ago. OMFG!!! I'm not kidding. It pawns all the live dvds ever released. It surpassed both Reset live and GCC. I have never seen hyde singing this well.. His voice is just sooo freaking powerful..very deep, strong, and just sooo goood!!! He whines, moans and growls a lot which is fine by me and that increases the sexyness factor by 10000 ++ As you know, the set list is great and gloriously long (almost 4hours) All the performaces are topnotch. Ken stole the show, yukki comes very close next to ken. tetchan is as awesome as usual. hyde..welll it's hyde you know :wave::wave: It has both yukki and ken's celebrations and MCs are not cut...I can't stop watching it...it's worth every cent. Also, the packaging is nice/cute, and all 15 postcards are killers XD..

We gonna have full radio ripped of Daybreak's Bell soon..

I like how hyde's singing style is soo different in Daybreak's Bell from MHDAD. His voice is sooo versatile!!! He can rock out/ growl/whine/scream like in faith and 666 and also sings sooo softly in gentle melodies at the same time. He is just amazing.

I think KISS is gonnna be really gooood tooooo, but blowing AWAKE?? well I think Kiss is gonna be a completely different album from AWAKE considering no L'arc albums have the same feel (except ark/ray cause they are released together). Considering the singles that came out for this album (Link, MHDAD, Seventh Heaven), they are not tooo rockish except Daybreak's bell. I think Kiss will resemble Heavenly more than other albums because heavenly has a lot of popsongs that has sorta dark edges. FRom the concerts audio, people say, they play a lot of ballads and some of the songs are dark like Daybreak's bell.. So, maybe it's Heavenly/Dune album? I just know that it's gonna be sooo good.
