Like the title asks, are there any fans here? I listen to his music everyday. I've learned to play a lot of his songs on guitar and piano. This man is a musical genius and needs to be more recognized than just an "anime composer". He should be doing movies...

Has anyone hear 'acquired' his song to fame? One Winged Angel. He even did an Orchestra version. I saw the soundtrack at Sugoi con, but I only 'acquired' the Orchestrated MP3 on WinMX. It's beautiful, stunning, brilliant, divine all in one :)
too bad he didnt composed any songs for FFX2

I would have to say that I am a fan of Nobou Uemetsu, he's very talented.
he's a musical genious...I can't believe he left Square Enix, but atleast he's still in the business with his own company...among my favorites of his compositions are Aeris's Theme and the Theme for Zanarkand..I'll have to look for the other titles of the songs that I like..but of his there are many..I hope that one day I can hear the concert with the Phillarmonic Prchestra playing his wonderful songs..I wish I had gone to E3..does anyone know if he's planning o do anymore concerts in the U.S.?

I like some of his works. The stuff he did for Final Fantasy 6 was great, and FF7 was good also. I've got the entire FF6 sountrack, and the album the Black mages.

Black Mages aren't too good, though. I just LOVE his work with the FF-games, but I don't care too much about the Black Mages...
I haven't heard Black Mages... I don't mean to sound stupid, but who are they??...are they any good??

They're talented musicians and all.. only, sometimes their music is a little too metal and too.. hard. At least I think so..

I myself love the Black Mages. Not as good as the original songs, of course, but still awesome. I guess it depends on what kind of music you like. ^.^

Ya, I guess. I just love the originals, so I guess I don't like them remade... The FF original soundtracks are soooo good
Nobou Uematsu is one of the best composers out there, except for Yuki Kajiura who is #1 ^^

I believe Ah! My Goddess is one of his main anime titles worked on.
He had absolutely nothing to do with FFX-2 (as mentioned above) and next-to-nothing to do with FFX as well.
Black Mages I kicks ass, Black Mages II is mostly okay.
His best works are the Aria de Mezzo Caratterre from FFVI, pretty much all of the FFIV tracks, Golbeza Clad in the Dark in particular (particularly if you get the piano collections), Dancing Mad (either the original game version or the slightly shorter--but still 12 minute long--Black Mages version) which is the full final Kefka music from FFVI, and the "Love Grows" version of Eyes on Me from FFVIII (the part where Squall is walking to Esthar).
And yes, I do have every Final Fantasy album released up until the Rise of Zilart (FFXI) OST.

LOVE GROWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loooooooooooove that song. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it. I keep a save right before you go see Rinoa in the infirmary just so I can watch that scene whenever I get the urge. :p

I gave up on keeping saves for each bit of music and only have a few for certain FMVs from each game. That's one reason why I have all the OSTs.
Wanted to add: Forever Rachel (FFVI)
Edit: FYI (http://imdb.com/name/nm0879965/)

True, it is hard to keep all those saves. Eats your memory card up. But I have that save more for the scene than the music. I don't know why, but I identify so much with Squall in that scene. Carrying her...talking to her, even though she isn't answering...dunno. It's just super uber romantic to me. And then there's the song, which makes it ten times better. :-)

the black mages are great and so is uematsu
he is a freaking genius
just yesterday I was watching a trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children and it had One Winged Angel playing in the background and I was reminded of his immence talent...not to mention the music went along so well with the scenes...I was very impressed by him once again and I couldn't help but cry when they showed Cloud lowering Aeris into the water *sniffles*...all of his music is just sooo beautiful...^^
