Question for moderators

Greetings:

I would like to post a message inviting members to join a service on my website. This a for-profit (Japan-related) venture so the message would really be advertising which I assume violates the rules.

Please tell me the best way to accomplish this within your guidelines. I do not wish to purchase banner ads. A text message is much better, such as in the forum.

Hmm... i'm not 100% sure, but I think you might be able to post something in the "Site Promotion & Reviews" forum (since you are in essence plugging your site) although Thomas and/or Twisted would have the final say re: what constitutes "advertising" (depends on the nature of the service, etc.). Not much help I know but hopefully one of them will be able to give you a better idea.

I'll clarify: I would be asking merchants to consider joining a kind of Japan shopping mall for a fee.

Well, thanks for asking first before blindly spamming it all over the forum. Others could learn from you. :)

I suppose it's alright, but, as Iron Chef mentioned, only in the "Site Promotion & Reviews". And as long as it isn't porn-related, discriminating or involves any form of pyramid-scheme.
