I am 17 right now and me and some friends are planning on a trip to japan when we graduate, (if we like it well stay). I would really like to learn japanese before I go and just to know the language. Can somone help me find a good book that teaches it or maybe a website? Thanks alot

I'd reccomend the Japanese for Busy People series. It teaches through examples and then explanations of the examples. It's very good for people just visiting Japan for awhile, as it deals with the most common and most essential situations. I've seen Volume I in stores and own it, but sadly I haven't been able to find Volume II or III anywhere except online..
