Required Cooking Equipment

Im looking at moving to japan next year and an wondering, apart from the usual bits (easily aqquired from the 100yen shop) what do you think is essential cooking bits? So far im thinking things that are the most effective for making the most things.

Ie. Rice cooker, those upright kettles, and a electric hotplate thing that you can do sukiyaki, yakiniku etc on and maybe a little gas stove if i get an apartment without a oven.

Anything else?

hey im sorry no one has answered your thred so im here to say hi! i donno what you should have... except for a wok. it comes in handy, expecially for stir fry! lol, its nice to be talkin to someone on here. i hadnt talk to a lot of ppl on this fourm. its big! well good luck!
