Something happened while I was posting on another topic on the fora. When I typed this:
:pdancing:
It showed me this:
:pdancing:
Instead of this:

I would appreciate it if this mini-glitch was fixed... :clueless:

when you click on [More] for the smilies, nothing happens?? Under the old & the new Forum I have never been able to get beyond the first page. Do I have some setting on my PC on or off that needs to be changed?? I know there are all those other smilies just beyond my reach, and I can't use them. Help - Save ME !!

Okay, easy there Frank, I can answer that.
I sometimes see that happen too. My conclusion is that there are a lot of people using the fora, or there's a lot of bandwidth from the dedicated server being consumed. So it will take a little to get the information, because of the circumstances, and other stuff. Heck, sometimes I can't even get mny post through without having to refresh every so often!

log in & refresh about every 5 minutes. So far there are a lot less problems now. When I have a problem, good ol Maciamo is right there to fix it!
Frank
PS: I tried clicking on the smilies about 50 times and waited about 5 min. with no luck?

That's why he's the administrator of this fora. It's his job, right, Maci-sama? :smug:

And for that, I personally conclude either:
*You're a bit impatient,
*Your computer's too slow, or
*Bandwidth problem/overflow on the fora
(I use common knowledge/sense to analyze these cases...)
well im fairly sure franks computer is up to speed. plus he has a cable connection so it shouldnt take that long.
now i have this to ask: frank, do you have a pop-up blocker on your computer?

Under settings, There are things on what scripts to allow and other complicated things that I never know to check on or off. I never thought about the little program I run called AD-AWARE. When I sign off the Forum it tells me how it blocked tons of ads. So I guess that sounds like the problem. I'll have to figure how to shut it off while I'm on the Forum. I've had it running so long, I forgot about it blocking things. THANKS !!
Frank
prolly it then, the 'more' buttom brings pop-up showing all the smilies available, i think its javascript too as it wont let you open it by right-clicking.

For 10 months I haven't been able to get things on the Forum; I shut the ad blocker off, and bingo, things work.
From now on you are my PC guru, I will bow to you and come to your cave at the top of the mountain for answers to my mysteries!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!
Frank

She has a quilting forum, and things weren't working right there either. Soon as I set the ad deal off her forum worked too.
Thanks Again,

:pfinger: prolly doesnt work either

maybe changing the code for :p to ;p or changing the codes for those by taking out the 'p' and/or changing the letter 'p' to something like 'q'

merged, no reason to create a new thread...

Thanks a lot, jeisan.
Anyway, I see that the two types of smilies conflict with each other in various ways. Did anyone notice that? I would believe the : pimp : glitch isn't the only problem... :bluush:

a kao smilie will always override a generic smilie.

So then the generic smilies are useless? Why don't you guys remove them? Just a suggestion... :bluush:

because alot of them are different from the kao like :flame: :samurai: :smash: :ninja: :stan: :homer: :kaioken: :banghead: :dunce:  :gun: :danger: :chinese: :japanese: :argue: :flower:

Well, modifying the code for it could work for those that conflict with the kao.
For example, the : dance : emoticon
was originally : pdance : or :pdance:
Maciamo changed it. See above. Maybe he can do the same thing for this one.
