View Full Version : Japan Radio
Hey guys,
might be a dumb question, but does japan radio run on the same frequencies as radio over here? Like, if I brought a radio walkman or something, would it pick up japan stations without a problem? Also, what are some of the major japan radio stations worth tuning in to?
Thanks!
Gord

Assuming you're out of Japan, it probably won't reach, or made it not reach due to frequency conflict. I think the frequency adjustments on radios are only so much.

but I can pick up Japan on my $50 Radioshack "SHORTWAVE" radio!! There are several relay stations that boost the signal, a couple in Canada help me hear it. Almost any book on shortwave will list the chanels & times you can hear Japan. You can look it up in the library or copy it from a bookstore. I think there are a few stations available on the PC, ages ago someone posted links to them. Unless your Japanese is pretty good, they talk pretty fast. Also, it's usually MORE talk then music! Usually shortwave comes in much better after 10 at night. Good luck!!

I know when bringing a car in to the UK from Japan you need to fit a band expander to pick up the UK frequencies. Japan has a smaller band of frequencies than the UK. The UK's main radio station is 97.9FM and the Japan frequencies only go up into the 80.'s
