How closely related are the baseball leagues? Meaning american and japanese... I see they have some of the same names for teams.

How closely related are the baseball leagues? Meaning american and japanese... I see they have some of the same names for teams.

The American leagues are franchises owned by groups, firms, or families. The Japanese teams are owned by corporations, except for the Hiroshima Carp, which is owned by the city.

Hm interesting, I will have to study a bit more into this topic as I have never really put any interest into Japanese sports, I have not even kept up with soccer! :D
