Yokohama, I love this city.. Tokyo is ok, but can be annoying very quickly. I will tell you about Kyoto/Osaka, maybe Odaiba? As my trip continues... :)

You HAVE to go to Kyoto, tokyo and Fukuoka. I quite Like Osaka too but y favourite city by Far is Nagasaki.
Best way from the UK is to try and get a flight from the net with Korean airlines. i've never paid more than £750 for my flights

If you want to see the real Japan, you may want to get away from the big cities / obvious tourist destinations. As an alternative to Kyoto, I would strongly recommend Kanazawa in Ishikawa. If you want to see real inaka (countryside) then try the Japan sea coast of Fukui. Of course Fuji is a must. The Izu penninsula near to Fuji is a good fairly out-of-the-way place, too.

Hey m8, well its pretty darn expensive for us Brits. Flights over to Japan in the cheapest month are around £470 . However to cut down on costs my staying in a youth hostel - http://www.yha.org.uk/Home/Home_Page/index.html (youth membership)
However i rate club tocco very highly, not sure if that its proper name ! forgot the link to that , some real cheap hotels and this prob be your best option !Espicially if on a cheap budget like me.
But if ya rich guy then this is the best option - http://www.insidejapantours.com/ (Inside Japan Tours) is your best option. Can see all that you want to see on a tour.
For everything you need to know about japan - http://www.jnto.go.jp/ (Japan tourism page)
Hope i have helped ya there buddy
