As it is my first time, hiya everybody!!!
I'm planning my first trip 2 Japan later on this year for about 2/3 weeks, and I've been wondering how much spending money should I take with me???
In my case accomodation cost is not an issue cause I have a local friend, and gonna stay at hers, but w're talking food, drinks, few gifts, transportation and sightseeing /mostly Tokyo and surrounding towns/ here. I'm considering something around 1500$ What would your advice be???
Cheers

Cheers mate! Let me put it this way, is let's say, 100$ a day enough to spend on p.transport, food and few drinks in a pub/club environment???
I'm talking Tokyo btw. My japanese friend told me that local prices are quite similiar to the ones of London /where I live/ so my guess is that 100$ would just do??? Thanks for any feedback!!!

in that case, yes! i met different groups of englishmen at the hotel and they all said that tokyo was the same (expensive) as london. best as i can do, because i've never been to london.
i said that earlier, because some people want to go to tokyo on a beer budget, but have champagne tastes...

When I traveled to Tokyo in August of last year, I spent about $100.00 a day for meals, transportation, sightseeing and whatnot, but I was only there for a week, so it's all rather relative. If you can budget wisely for the amount of time you'll be there, a Benjamin a day should do well for you.
