Hi again,
though still looking for a job, I'm seriously thinking about leaving to Japan even without a job and look for it when I'll be there.
Now I would like to know your thoughts about the best places where to start living in Japan.
I mean, I've been three times in Tokyo, so I know how to easily move and where to look for things (at leats a bit), but what about the surroundings of this fantastic city?
Let's talk about reant prices, quality of life etc. You know, having to start a new life, it is better if I can save some money in the beginning, don't you think?
Apart from Tokyo and surroundings, which other cities would you suggest for someone who's moving to Japan? Some frineds of mine told me Osaka and Kyoto are the best bets.
Tell me what you think
Bye all

Well, it depends on what work you are trying to do, but if you are planning to work in Tokyo then Chiba is a bit cheaper and not as crowded and dirty, and if you can find a place on the Sobu or Tozai line you can get pretty much anywhere in Tokyo pretty quickly and easily.

I've got friends in both Kobe and Nagoya and they seem like nice places (Kobe is appealing to me for its beaches).
But otherwise I don't mind Tokyo. Been to Chiba and Saitama and could handle living there.

Well Budd, I'm happy to see that you look after me so much :-)
Do you tell this because it is an error to look for a job when you are already in Japan? But hey, wherever I llok for, I always see "Applicants must reside in Japan yet"!!!
Anyway you are right: home is where heart is, and mine is securely fastened to Japan. You know when you love something (or some place) since you are a child, then you touch with your hand (aka: you go to that place) and you think "Oh God I was right, this is the Eden to me". Not to mention that I've been in other Countries, and never felt that voice inside me. Moreover, even if I don't want to consider the first time I've been to Japan (you know, the first time all seems beautiful ,and you are on holiday!!), starting from the second I always feel better when I'm there, eben if don't do what a usual toursit do. I feel well even if I just sit down in a park and breath.
The only real thing which still keeps me here in Italy is the love for my parents and sister, who I can die for, but I think everyone should look for his future, even if it hurts to leave sweethearts.
Sorry for this long post, but when I start talking about my feeling for Japan words go by themselves :-)
Anyway guys I'm still waiting for good advices on cities near Tokyo ;-)
Oh, last thing... would you prefer (and why) Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, or something else like Kobe, Nagoya, etc.

I live in Fukuoka. It's very convenient for a city not so crowded. It's not too small that everyone here knows my every move and not too crowded that I can still get a seat on the subway.
