I was told by the Admin that my comments did not have substance and did not comment enough about music therefore I will comment on why I like Zoey's music. Other than her magnificent voice her music covers many genres including alternative, jpop, pop and ethnic grooves. I think the arrangements and production is superb. There are wicked bass lines I've never heard before. Zoey's production team as UnderCover stated includes many of Utada Hikaru's team but with one difference Zoey's music is mixed by Goetz. Goetz is a German mixer who lives in London. He has mixed many top artists including; Craig David, Dido, 1 Giant Leap the Pet Shop Boys, etc. Two of Zoey's tracks Conflict of Interest and 愛をおしえて (Ai o Oshiete) includes Michael Landau on guitar. I don't think I have to list his bio as anyone who knows music knows who Michael Landau is. I hope this information is what the Admin is looking for.

Great! See, it's not that hard?

Actually, why are you guys so crazy about Zoey herself? Apparently it's her production-team that did all the work. She's just a puppet with a voice. Did she have any other input on this album?

I don't know about how much input she had but the songs she wrote on the album are by far the best tracks. Did you know she's the only artist ever that Bjork has allowed to cover one of her songs in a different language. I heard that Zoey is going to perform with Bjork in London.

That could indicate that Bjork needs money... :P

Mike Flower Pops also did a cover of "Venus as a boy", but that of course was in plain English.

If Zoey is coming to London, are there any indications that she might do a small European tour?

Now we all know that Bjork does not need money. Press reported in Japan that Bjork listened to the track and really liked it. Have you heard it in its entirety? Its really good. The track was arranged by Russell McNamara, the guy from London who does Hikki's remixes. And Zoey's vocal performance is outstanding. She was only 16 when she sang it. The Japanese translation was done with a raunchy slant with the lyric content being very explicit. I don't know about a tour. At this point its a rumor that was in a gossip mag.

News today in the Japan trades stated that Zoey will be starring in an American film "Homesick Blues" and that filming will start in Chicago in spring or summer. The story is about a Japanese girl who goes to America following a dream to become a blues singer and the troubles she faces in America. I wonder if this means the Bjork shows will be put on hold.

I just found this at http://www.homesickblues.com

Homesick Blues tells the story of Hiroko, a Japanese girl who runs away to Chicago hell-bent on becoming a blues singer. On the run from immigration agents, Hiroko gets a firsthand education in Chicago street culture from the vendors and hustlers of Maxwell Street, the birthplace of electric blues. Fighting for her place in the blues scene, a fiery and sensuous new voice emerges from Hiroko's cultural confusion.

Homesick Blues stars 19-year-old Japanese recording artist Zoey. Zoey is a hot young singing sensation poised to break into the international scene. Her debut single is due for release in fall 2003 from Columbia Records Japan.

I went to a Zoey concert in Osaka on Sun. 2/1. Wow!! ... what a great show. Did anyone else have a chance to see it? Zoey sang "Without You," a Mariah cover, man it was good ... the modulation towards the end of the song had my hairs standing on end.

I found a news article about Zoey's upcoming movie role at http://www.reelchicago.com/archive.cfm?storyID=54 The article is from last year. This just broke in Japan though it seems it was decided last year.

    Zoey

Zoey started well in Japan but kinda disappeared. Well I have some news ... she switched labels within the Columbia music group from J Room to Passion. Passion didn't want her but were forced to release her album and a single produced by Jam& Lewis "Soakin' Wet". They did so without any promotion and both CDs bombed. Her management company fought back and ultimetly gained control of her master recording rights. Her first album "Zoey" will be re-released along with new material by Nexus Music sometime this year. I am so happy that Zoey will be releasing new songs and I can't wait hear them.

    "Harajuku Girls"

Zoey made some noise when she released a Bjork cover "Venus as a Boy" and a very good debut album "Zoey". She also sang back vocals on Gwen Stefani's song "Harajuku Girls", though she is not one of Gwen's "Harajuku Girls". She vanished after that.

Zoey is her stage name, her real name is Yuko. I don't know her last name.

I've never heard of her before, either. So I listened to the samples on her site. But to be honest, I don't find her music that interesting Not unpleasant to listen to, and I like a few songs from what I've heard, but generally.. I guess it's just not my thing

Hmm i've been listening to some samples. I kind of don't like her vocal. I'm not saying it's bad, just not my type
