I've been looking into ways to describe smell and taste and came across the following attempts(please tell me which are incorrect/strange and which are more appropriate):

"A" smells good.
(This is a little strange to me because it's the first time I've seen the verb する used with "が")

Also, I was wondering if I could just say:

"A" tastes good.
or

If I could get some feed back on these guesses as to how you describe taste and smell, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

is probably like saying something has a good smell.

I guess would be like just saying in general something smells good.

Curry smells good.

This flower has a nice smell/scent/fragrance.

Same with あじ.

Both of your examples for smell/taste are OK, either will do.
Another way to tell smell/taste is
and for the taste, you can also say
