Tools for learning hiragana and katakana.

    国際交流パーティー - Tokyo International Party

Hello everyone, I'm new here and have just started learning japanese. During these first 2 weeks of my studies I've started to develop an online tool for learning and keeping track of my progress. Hopefully some of you will find it useful.

OBS! If you use the hiragana and katakana tools they only support Kunrei-romaji for now.

Hopefully I will learn alot from you guys!

    Oops, forgot the link: http://www.davidhallgren.se/nihon

PS. I've just bought the books "Genki - An integrated course...", any thoughts on those?

    Best Tools For Learning Are....

some of the members on this Forum. I swear you can have the most difficult problem with the Language ; ask it and get 10 answers back in no time! If you go back and read some of the old posts it's amazing how much info there is. Some of the old posts have links to great web site for learning the 3 alphabets, simple reading stories to help you get used to reading in Japanese. The people here are so helpful about everything to do with Japan. I stopped in 10 months ago and haven't left, always something interesting going on.

Hi Frank. I'm new to this forum (joined today). You would not perhaps still have those links to the simple reading stories, would you?

    nice site, in general.

just to point out though that your quiz refers to "FU" as "HU". that's the only problem I found though. good work.

Re fu, I thought that the syllable can be pronounced as either fu or hu?

"Genki - An Integrated Course" is, I thought, pretty good. I've only seen three books in the series, though, but there should be a workbook or two available.

pronounciation, yeah sort of... I was just pointing out that if I put in "FU" it was marked wrong.
