    Lying on your resume

    国際交流パーティー - Tokyo International Party

The news is already a bit old, but Yahoo!'s previous chief executive Scott Thompson got dumped by Yahoo! because he lied in his resume about his education. He claimed he had a degree in computer science, but actually he doesn't have it.

How Fast Things Change: Yahoo!’s New CEO Becomes a Liar - 24/7 Wall St.

So the question for everyone is:
Have you ever lied or exaggerated in your resume? And what did you lie about?

I have exaggerated certain things in my resume as in example the amount of time I spend at a company. Instead of writing down 8 months I wrote down a year... hey it looks a lot better!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading some of your opinions about this matter.

Yesterday the US Supreme Court overturned the Stolen Valor Act, which made it a crime to lie about military service and medals. The court said that most lies are protected as free speech.

Of course, an employer has a right to not hire or fire you if he catches you in a lie.

    Brainwashed , I can't !

Between my parents and relatives, church and Boy Scouts , I find it almost impossible to lie or do anything society thinks as wrong. I was bought up to believe you were an evil person and would burn in hell if you did wrong. I do manage to stray a bit once in a while though.
