Missile shield
U.S. informs Japan joint missile shield to be deployed in 2008
=> http://www.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/...20021110a1.htm Frankly, I expect the two Koreas to be united by 2008. Better invest that money in education and social insurance. ;)

I would find it ludicrous if I didn't knew that the military build-up during the cold war did worked out, since one of the parts couldn't afford to maintain the game. It was a dangerous game but it worked.
I find it amazing that with only one super-power in the world, the military spending hasn't scaled down... but I am naif and I believe that the UN should be a place of understanding and not of lobbying.

Well, the so-called "military-industrial complex" hasn't been disbanded yet, even after the Cold War. Sadly, arms biz is still the most lucrative business.
